Harmless types of Black Mold
All black mold will have some sort of negative side affect but there are molds that will have a less negative affect. These molds are alternaria, nigrospora, dresclera, pithomyces, aureobasidium, ulocladium, and stemphylium. Some side affects of these include increase in allergy and asthma symptoms, wheezing, stuffy nose, watery eyes, and itchy skin. If you have a weak immune system, the affects could be more severe. These molds are all black in color so make sure not to mix them up with toxic black mold. Even if you are having no side affects (lucky you!) mold needs to be removed as soon as it is found for if left it might grow and be harder to remove.
Dangerous types of Black Mold
All molds can be dangerous. The real question is how dangerous? Some dangerous molds include Penicillium, Cladosporium, Fusarium, and Aspergillus. None of these molds will kill you, however they are still quite dangerous. Mold can infect you through touching, eating and breathing. These molds will affect you with mild allergic reactions, asthma, respiratory conditions, and infections in your lung, liver, and kidneys. The affects can be much worse if infected you are infected too long. Other than dangerous these molds can come from leaks and water damaged. You could have a bigger problem on your hands than you first realized! Mold needs to be treated right away to ensure no further harm can be done.
Deadly types of Black Mold
Luckily there are not many types of Deadly Molds! One of the Deadliest types of mold is Black Mold. Also known as Stachybotrys chartarum, toxic black mold could have side affects such as rashes, chronic coughing, fatigue, and sneezing. However these are just short term affects. Long term affects might include nervous system disorders, heart damage, blood clotting, vomiting and bleeding in the lungs and nose. The affects of black mold can be very harmful. Make sure not to confuse black mold with black colored mold. Toxic black mold will have a dark black, or dark green color. It is most commonly found in attics. Some of the causes of black mold include improper ventilation, flooding, leaks, and blocked attic vents. Make sure you are taking all the cautions to prevent it. Black mold is not very common, but if you have suspicions make sure to get it checked.
